For the system to be able to find this class you need to do two things: First make sure your project is including the Android maps.jar in your build path. You can confirm that maps.jar is on your build path by checking: Project > Properties > Java Build Path > Libraries > Expand "Google Apis" Second browse to your manifest file asked 2 years ago viewed 9621 times active 2 years ago Linked 0 import com.google.android.maps.MapActivity; not accepted in Android Studio 79 Android Studio with Google Play Services 2 the method oncreate(bundle) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8143330/mapactivity-cannot-be-resolved-to-a-type
If you first add the code and accept when Eclipse tells you to include maps.jar, and then change the build target, you end up with 2 maps.jar in your build-path. –Roalt Then I cleaned the project and it was fixed.
